International Association of Speakers Bureaus


The International Association of Speakers Bureaus or International Association of Conference Offices is a non-profit organization of conference agencies and speaker management companies located throughout the world. the world. Founded in 1986, the IASB provides information on the conference industry through education, resources and partnerships with organizations that support the meetings and events industry.

History

In 1986, the International Group of Agencies and Offices was founded by Dottie Walters and is headquartered in Arizona. In July 2000, the Board of Governors of IGAB voted to form a separate organization called the International Association of Speakers' Offices. In 2002, IGAB merged with the IASB, incorporating it as a nonprofit organization in Indiana on July 1, 2002. In 2010, the organization moved its headquarters to Arizona.
In 2016 there is a historic milestone in the Association, which showed the power that the Hispanic world was taking in the conference circuits, with the election of Spanish Daniel Romero-Abreu as president, the first non-Anglo-Saxon in all history of the IASB. Currently, it is chaired by Charlotte Raybourn, for the 2018-2019 academic year.
It is part of the Events Industry Council and the NSA-IASB Council and works together with other organizations to provide support, guidance and information to its members, forming part of the International Group of Agencies and Bureaus. Among the partner organizations are:
