Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006


Israel’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was "Together We Are One" by Eddie Butler, who had previously represented Israel in the 1999 European Song Contest. The song was written by Eddie Butler, Osnat Zabag and Galit Burg, and was composed by Eddie Butler. It was given a new version with more English lyrics for performing at the Eurovision.

Before Eurovision

The final took place on 15 March 2006 at the Nakdi TV Studios in Jerusalem, hosted by Yael Bar Zohar and Eden Harel. Eleven songs competed and the winner was determined by a combination of the votes of four regional juries in Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv, Haifa and Be'er Sheva, four televoting regions, SMS voting and the audience present at the TV studio.

Spokespersons

Israel automatically qualified in the final due to Shiri Maimon's fourth place in 2005,He performed 3rd, following Moldova and preceding Latvia but ended with only four points in the final, Israel finished in second to last place, meaning that Israel would have to compete in the semi-final of 2007 contest.
