Itai Veruv


Itai Veruv is an general who commands the Military Colleges of Israel Defense Forces.

Military service

Veruv was drafted into the IDF in 1985. He volunteered as a paratrooper in the Paratroopers Brigade, and in 1985 became an infantry officer after completing Officer Candidate School. During his career Veruv commanded a paratroopers company and 101st "Peten" paratroop battalion in counter-guerrilla operations in South Lebanon. Afterwards he commanded Hiram Formation, and led 55th Paratroopers Brigade during the 2006 Lebanon War. In his next position he commanded Kfir Brigade. In 2014 he was appointed as the commander of the Gaza Division and in 2016 as the chief of staff of the GOC Army Headquarters. On 2019 he was promoted to the rank of aluf and was given command on the Military Colleges.
