Ja'afar Mahmud Adam was a Nigerian and member of Nigeria's Jama'at al Izalat al bid'a wa iqamatus sunnah, a religio-political organisation based in Abuja. His teaching aimed at revolutionizing the socio-political and religious life of his people. He prophesied about the insurgency.Teaching
