Jacob Lee Christian Blowes, who performs as Jacob Lee, is an Australian pop, singer-songwriter from the Gold Coast, Queensland. In May–June 2014 he was a contestant on the third Australian series of The Voice, and was coached by will.i.am. Previously he had been a member of radio station, Sea FM's boy band, Oracle East, in 2012. In January 2016, Lee supported Justice Crew on their Live & Local Tour in New South Wales. Lee is the founder and owner of Philosophical Records & Lowly Lyricist.
Early career
Jacob Lee Christian Blowes, born 4November 1994, was raised on the Gold Coast, Queensland. He began his music career as a busker in Surfers Paradise, in which he performed on the street for over 4 years. Surfers Paradise. In 2011, Lee progressed to bootcamp of Season 3 of Australian TV talent show, The X Factor, after Guy Sebastian believed he was too young. Lee was briefly a member of the boy band, Oracle East, which was devised in 2012 by Gold Coast radio station, Sea FM. From May, through June 2014 Lee was a contestant on the third season of the Australian version of The Voice and was coached by will.i.am. He was eliminated during a sing-off episode, with his rendition of Sebastian's single, "Battle Scars". Upon leaving the voice, Jacob embarked on a journey of self discovery, disappearing to write his first record. Since 2015 - 2020, Jacob has released over 50 songs under his EP's & albums, 'Sine Qua Non', 'Clarity', 'Philosophy', "Philosophical Sessions', 'Conscience' & the 'Conscious Sessions'. Jacob has now surpassed 200 million streams heading his own independent label Philosophical Records, & developing an eloquence brand, Lowly Lyricist.
2014–17: "Chariot" to ''Clarity''
In June 2014 Jacob Lee independently released his debut single, "Chariot". As of March 2020 it has over 20,000,000 streams on Spotify. The song made its debut on HIT 105, a Brisbane radio station and was also played on the Gold Coast's Sea FM. In January 2016 Lee accompanied Australian boy band, Justice Crew, on their New South Wales tour from Coffs Harbour to Sydney. Lee's debut extended play, Sine Qua Non was released on 6 February 2016. Its four tracks include, "Chariot". He was the featured vocalist on "Need to Feel", a single by Social Hooliganz & Trifo, which peaked at No. 12 on the ARIA Club Tracks. The singer's second EP, Clarity, followed in the next year, also with four tracks. One of these, "I Just Know", was released under Warner Music United Kingdom. Another featured vocal was with Social Hooliganz on their single, "Stars at Night", which peaked at No. 36 on the ARIA Club Tracks.
2017-current: ''Philosophy'' to ''Conscience''
Late in 2017 Lee released two tracks, as the start of a new album, Philosophy. He referred to a track, "Oceans", as one of his first songs that is from his perspective. For the album he created his own record label: Philosophical Records, with all of his recorded material due to be released under it. To continue with Philosophy, Lee released "Black Sheep" in early 2018, to present his thoughts on the current state of the popular music industry. "Cursed" was released a month later, which focused on the perspective of a person with schizophrenia. "With You" and "I Belong to You" were released on the same day. "With You" surrounds the love a parent feels for their child, and "I Belong to You" is about romantic love; Lee states in its official music video on YouTube, that it is dedicated to his brother and his wife Eva. His next album, Conscience, also has 10 tracks. Its first single is the title track, "Conscience", which was released on 5 April 2019. He premiered the related music video on 14 April on YouTube. The second single from Conscience, was "Zen", which was released on 24 May 2019 with a music video provided.
