Jacques Mairesse


Jacques Mairesse was a French association footballer. He played for FC Sète, Red Star, and RC Strasbourg, and earned 6 caps for the France national football team, and played in the 1934 FIFA World Cup finals. Mobilized in 1940, he was taken prisoner by German forces. He was shot and killed on 13 June 1940 while trying to escape the Germans. His son was Jacques Mairesse, the economist.
