James H. Dickinson


James H. Dickinson is a lieutenant general of the United States Army currently serving as the deputy commander of the United States Space Command since December 2019. He was nominated for promotion to general in June 24, 2020 to replace John W. Raymond as commander of the United States Space Command.
Prior to serving in his current position, Dickinson previously assumed command of the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command on January 5, 2017. He received his commission as a second lieutenant, through the Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps from Colorado State in 1985. Since then, he has held leadership positions from platoon leader to commanding general.
