James H. Merrill
James H. Merrill is a Republican politician. He was a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives from the 99th District, serving from 2001 to 2017.
He was suspended from office in 2016 after being indicted on ethics charges and resigned on August 31, 2017. he ultimately plead guilty to a single misdemeanor count for not reporting otherwise lawful income. The other charges were dismissed and expunged and the solicitor stated in court that Merrill's work was legitimate.
