Jang Hyun-soo


Jang Hyun-soo is a South Korean player and currently playing for Al-Hilal.

Club career

In January 2012, Jang Hyun-soo signed a new contract with FC Tokyo. In January 2014, he signed a new contract with Guangzhou R&F FC in China. He returned to Tokyo FC in July 2017.. On July 12 2019, He joined a top Saudi Arabian Football Club Al Hilal on a 3 years contract until June 2022. He played an important role in the journey of Al Hilal in AFC Champions League. On 24 November 2019, He won his first title in club football.

International career

In May 2018 he was named in South Korea's preliminary 28 man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. Jang was criticized by South Korean football legends such as Lee Young-pyo and Ahn Jung-hwan for his perceived poor performance in the group match against Mexico. Jang conceded a penalty and was also involved in Mexico's second goal, scored by Javier Hernández.
On 1 November 2018, Jang received a lifetime ban and a 30 million won fine from the national team after he admitted to falsifying records related to his military exemption. Jang had previously earned an exemption by winning gold at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon.
