Jean de Boë


Jean Adelin De Boë - January 2, 1974, in Watermael-Boitsfort ) was a typographer, militant anarchist, and anarcho-syndicalist. He was founder of the "Syndicat unifié du livre et du papier de Bruxelles" and president of the Centrale nationale de l’industrie du livre and secretary of the International Graphic Federation.
He held many pseudonymes: Quercus, Georges démos et G-Dém1..
On February 28, 1912, he was arrested for his activities at Bonnot Gang and was sentenced to 10 years of forced labor. In 1922, he escaped from the penal colony of French Guyana. He moved to Belgium where he dedicated himself until his death to union activities.
He was the Son of Victor De Boë and Marie Vanderhondelinger. He became an orphan in an early age and was raised by his grandmother..
