Jetty Peninsula
Jetty
Peninsula
is an
elongated
, steep-sided, almost flat-topped
peninsula
that
extends
northward
from just
east
of
Beaver Lake
for about
30
miles
into the
Amery Ice Shelf
. After an
Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions
aircraft
discovered
it in
1956
,
ANCA
named the
formation
for its resemblance to a
jetty
.
