Jinnah Sports Stadium


The Jinnah Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium has a capacity of 48000 people, And is the largest stadium in Pakistan.

Stadium

This stadium was built back in the 1970s. The stadium was renovated and used for the SAF Games in 2004. The playing field has a running track around its perimeter allowing athletics use.

Major matches

It hosted 1989 South Asian Games, 2004 South Asian Games, 2005 South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup's semi-finals and finals and all the matches of 2014 SAFF Women's Championship. It hosted Quaid-e-Azam Inter Provincial Youth Games in 2016 & 2017.
