Joann Ginal


Joann Ginal is an American politician, currently serving as a member of the Colorado Senate from District 14. Ginal was first elected to the Colorado House of Representatives in 2012.

Education

Ginal earned her B.S. in Biology from University of New Hampshire, her Master's in Zoology from Iowa State University, and her Ph.D. in Reproductive Endocrinology from Colorado State University in 1997.

Career

Ginal worked in the biological and medical fields for more than 20 years as a scientist with a focus in pharmacology, in research and most recently as a medical science liaison in medical affairs. She is a Master Naturalist with the city of Fort Collins.
A member of the Colorado Democratic Party, she represented the 52nd District which encompasses the eastern part of Fort Collins, Colorado. In early 2019, a vacancy committee appointed her to fill the vacant senate seat created by the resignation of John Kefalas. She was sworn in as a state senator for Senate District 14 along with the newly elected and reelected senators on January 4, 2019.
