John Freeman (rugby) John "Johnny" Freeman was a Welsh rugby union , and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s. He played club level rugby union for Cardiff International Athletic Club, as a centre , i.e. number 12 or 13, and representative level rugby league for Wales , and at club level for Halifax , as a, or, i.e. number 2 or 5, or, 3 or 4.Background Johnny Freeman was born in Cardiff , Wales, and he died aged 83.Playing career International honours Johnny Freeman represented Wales while at Halifax in 1963 against France at Stade des Minimes , Toulouse on Sunday 17 February 1963.
