John Sill Rogers
John Sill Rogers was an American politician.
Rogers was the son of Gideon and Lucy Rogers, and was born in Lyme, Connecticut, April 15, 1796. He graduated from Yale College in 1815. He was a physician and a farmer. He resided in Lyme until 1837, when he removed to Rome, Ohio, which was thereafter the place of his residence. He was to some extent in public life, having been several times a member of each house of the Legislature of Connecticut, and also, in 1840, representative in the Legislature of Ohio.
Rogers married Matilda Lord from Lyme, Connecticut on February 10, 1822, and had two daughters. He died in Rome, Ashtabula County, Ohio on December 28, 1860, aged 64.
