Jonathan M. Lamb


Jonathan Matthew Lamb is an American entrepreneur, economist, author, and educator, who ran in the 2018 Republican primary for Indiana's 6th congressional district.

Early life, education, career

Born in Muncie, Indiana, Lamb is a graduate of Ball State University with degrees in Economics, and Risk Management, and has an MBA from North Carolina State University.
In 2004, Lamb received BS degrees from the Miller College of Business in Risk Management and Economics. He then went on to work as a Power Trader for ACES Power Marketing and as a senior real time trader for Progress Energy. Lamb has started and owned several small businesses, and currently owns OptoeV, Inc., in Muncie, Indiana, which is a provider of small autonomous self-driving battery powered electric agriculture equipment. Lamb earned an MBA from the Jenkins MBA Program at North Carolina State University where he was a McLauchlan Leadership Fellow.
Lamb is an economic writer, and TV and radio guest. Lamb's first book, Economics is Like Sex: Common Sense Thinking for Better Decisions Through the Taboo Topics of Money, Budgets, Markets, and Trade was published by Morgan James Publishing in 2017, with a full national release in 2018.
Beginning in Fall 2018, Lamb is currently employed as an Instructor of Economics at his undergraduate alma mater, Ball State University where he teaches courses in microeconomics.

Political life

On August 1, 2017, Lamb announced that he is running for the Republican nomination for the US House of Representatives for the Indiana 6th District. On May 8, 2018, Lamb lost the Republican nomination to Greg Pence whose brother current Vice President Mike Pence had held for twelve years. Lamb lent himself over three-quarters of a million dollars and Pence raised over one million dollars, making the "race the most expensive in the state." Pence faced Democrat Jeannine Lake in the November general election, which he won handily.

Personal life

Lamb and his wife Mollee, live in Muncie Indiana and have two boys.
