Joseph Jackson was an American screenwriter, who was nominated for the now dead category of Best Story at the 4th Academy Awards. He was nominated alongside Lucien Hubbard. They were nominated for Smart Money.
He had over 50 screenplay credits from 1927 to 1932.

He was elected president of the Wampas, organization of the publicity and advertising men, in 1923. He later joined the ranks of scenario writers and for the last five years had been turning out screen plays for Warner Brothers First National Pictures. He wrote the script and dialogue for :The Singing Fool", "The Terror", "My Man", "Tenderloin", "Those Who Dance", Fifty Million Frenchmen", "Smart Money" and scores of others. He also was author of many vaudeville play-lets.
He was married to Ethel Shannon former actress and had a 4-year-old son.
He married April 10, 1927, at the Wilshire Boulevard Congregational Church, Los Angeles
