KBFM


KBFM is a Bilingual Rhythmic Top 40 music formatted radio station serving the Rio Grande Valley. The iHeartMedia station is licensed to Edinburg, Texas and broadcast their format at 104.1 MHz with an ERP of 100 kW at 1,224 feet haat. It shares a studio with its sister stations, KHKZ, KTEX, KVNS, and KQXX-FM, located close to the KRGV-TV studios in Weslaco, Texas, while its transmitter is located in Bluetown, Texas.

History

After signing on in 1972, KBFM started out with a broad-based Top 40 direction when it debuted the format on the air in 1974. But in 2004 they shifted to Rhythmic Top 40, thus putting them in competition with KBTQ. KBFM has been previously known as "B104" and "Hot B104" during its Top 40 days.
