KSIX (AM)


KSIX is a radio station broadcasting a local sports talk format featuring 2 local shows as well as Dan Patrick, Jim Rome and nights and weekends from Yahoo! Sports Radio, with additional programming from Westwood One. Licensed to Corpus Christi, Texas owned by SPORTSRADIOCC, LLC. The station is also simulcast on 95.1 FM and 96.1 FM in Corpus Christi.

Programming

KSIX has two local talk shows: The Eric Von Wade Show" and "Sports Misconduct."
The Eric Von Wade Show, a conservative talk show, moved from KEYS to KSIX in August 2010. Von Wade is a 20-year talk veteran in the market and his show has been dubbed "Full Contact Talk Radio" by Texas Governor Rick Perry. The show covers the hottest political, social and entertainment news of the day and is Produced by James "Single J" Kruse who gives hourly updates in sports and often challenges Eric on the issues of the day. The show currently airs Monday – Friday 6:00 AM – 9 AM.
Sports Misconduct'' is hosted by Scott Howe. The show was launched in April 2010 and has a strong local following airing Monday–Friday 3 pm – 6 pm.
KSIX Sales Manager Scott Howe. Howe is known as a big fan of the University of Michigan and the San Diego Chargers. Over his radio career, Howe claims to have done radio work for KSJO, KNBR, WWL, WXTG, the Hampton Road Admirals, Baton Rouge Kingfish,, New Orleans Brass, the San Jose Sharks, San Jose Sabercats, San Jose State Spartans Football, San Jose Giants and Stanford University Football. He has occasionally done color for the Corpus Christi Icerays and the Coastal Bend Aviators, and did play-by-play for the Corpus Christi Sharks, and currently the Corpus Christi Hammerheads. In addition to his on-air and programming duties, Howe has claimed numerous times on the air he is part of the SPORTSRADIOCC ownership group, although FCC documentation contradicts this.
KSIX live sports programing includes the Houston Texans, the Houston Rockets, Texas A&M Corpus Christi Basketball, Texas A&M Kingsville Football, Corpus Christi Hammerheads, and the Houston Astros. KSIX is the only station in the Astros Radio Network to broadcast every season since the team came into the league as the Houston Colt.45s and is about to begin its 50th year as an affiliate.
In addition to the team broadcast rights, KSIX also carries Sunday and Monday Night Football, the NFL on Westwood One, the NCAA Basketball Tourney, BCS bowls, and Westwood One College Football and basketball.
