Kailyn Rae "Kail" Lowry is an Americanreality television personality, author, and public speaker. Born in Honsdale, PA and raised in Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, she received public attention after being cast in the second season of reality television series16 and Pregnant in 2010, which documented the pregnancies and first months of motherhood for several young women. In late 2010 she was cast in the spin-off series Teen Mom 2, along with Jenelle Eason, Chelsea DeBoer and Leah Messer, and has appeared in each of its eight seasons. Briana DeJesus, who has also dated Lowry's ex-husband, Javi, later joined the cast. Lowry released her first book, Pride Over Pity, in 2014. Her second book, Hustle and Heart was released in 2016. In 2018 announced her third book A Letter of Love. Prior to its release, Lowry revealed that the book was written as an apology to her children, especially youngest son Lux. Kailyn has also ventured into children's books with her book Love is Bubblegum which she released in 2015. In 2017, Kailyn received a bachelor's degree in mass communications from Delaware State University. Lowry also hosts her own Podcast series, Coffee Convos which she hosts with fellow reality TV star Lindsie Chrisley.
Personal life
Kailyn was born in Honesdale, Pennsylvania on March 14, 1992, to Suzanne "Suzi" Irwin. Her father was absent from her childhood, and did not pursue a relationship with her after the two met for the first time when in 2009, when she was 17 years old. In 2018, she told the press she was estranged from both her parents, and was unsure as where her mother was living or working or if she was even alive. Kailyn is divorced. She married the father of her second child, Lincoln, Javi Marroquin, a member of the United States Air Force, on September 4, 2012, while pregnant, and filed for divorce in December 2015. Some of their marriage was televised; in one segment of Teen Mom featuring the two, Javi blamed Kailyn for suffering a miscarriage, and later, the two appeared together on Marriage Boot Camp. The two agreed to share custody of their son and Kailyn denied rumors that their marriage had ended due to infidelity. Kailyn has three children, son Isaac Elliott Rivera, by her ex-boyfriend, Jonathan "Jo" Rivera, son Lincoln Marshall Marroquin, by her ex-husband, Javi Marroquin, and son Lux Russell Lowry by her friend, Chris Lopez. On February 4, 2020, she announced on Instagram that she is expecting her fourth son.
