Kampong Kulapis


Kampong Kulapis or Kampung Kulapis is a settlement in Brunei-Muara District, Brunei. It is officially a village-level subdivision under the mukim of Sengkurong. Kampong Kulapis has an area of ; in 2001, it had a population of 1,166. The incumbent village head is Timor bin Limbang.

Location

Kampong Kulapis is located approximately from Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. It neighbours the settlements of Kampong Tanjong Nangka to the north, Kampong Mulaut to the north-east, Kampong Bebatik to the east and south-east, Kampong Batong to the south and south-west, and Kampong Katimahar to the west and north-west.

Kampong Kulapis has a mosque: Pehin Khatib Abdullah Mosque was inaugurated in May 2017 by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei. The mosque is a waqf by an anonymous donor. It serves the need of its Muslim residents for Islamic communal prayers and activities, especially the Jumu'ah or weekly Friday prayers. The mosque can accommodate 700 worshippers.
