Kanna Hashimoto


Kanna Hashimoto is a Japanese actress and former singer who began her career as a member of the Japanese idol girl group Rev. from DVL and has starred in a number of films, many of which are live-action adaptations of popular manga and anime series.

Career

When Hashimoto was in third grade, she signed with the agency Active Hakata in her hometown, Fukuoka. She became a member of the all-female pop group Rev. from DVL. In 2011, Hashimoto appeared in the movie I Wish.
In 2013, Hashimoto gained national attention when a photo of her taken at one of Rev. from DVL's live performances went viral on 2channel and Twitter. Praised for her natural beauty, she was given titles such as "beyond cute local idol", "beyond angelic idol", and "a talent appearing once in a millennium." In 2015, a web poll conducted by My Navi Student declared her the Cutest Idol from both the men's choices and women's choices list.
In 2015, she portrayed Ritsu the robot student in the live-action Assassination Classroom film.
In 2016, she starred in , a "spiritual sequel" to the 1981 film Sailor Suit and Machine Gun. She portrays title character Izumi Hoshi, a high school girl who was a former teenage delinquent and becomes the boss of yakuza. She also sang the cover theme song from the 1981 film originally sung by Hiroko Yakushimaru. Her rendition of the song reached number 11 on Oricon's charts and charted for 7 weeks.
Hashimoto starred as teenage alien girl Kagura in the Gintama live-action film in 2017, and later reprised the role in a sequel film in 2018.
She portrayed Kokomi Teruhashi in the live-action The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. film. She portrayed the title character Kaguya Shinomiya in the.

Hashimoto has a twin older brother.
