Kansas State School for the Blind


Kansas State School for the Blind is a fully accredited public high school located in Kansas City, Kansas, USA, serving students in grades Pre-K through 12. The school was established in 1867. It is located on located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas. It opened its doors on September 7, 1868.

History

Commissioners were appointed to locate a State Asylum for the Blind in 1864 and the city of Wyandotte provided of land. The Kansas Legislature appropriated $20,000 to erect the building in 1867 and it was opened September 7, 1868.
