Kasaï District


Kasaï District is a former district located in the former Kasai-Occidental province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It was bordered by Lulua District to the southeast, Kwango District to the southwest, Sankuru District, Tshuapa District, Kwilu District, Mai-Ndombe District, and the nation of Angola in the south.
In 2015 its status was elevated to Kasaï Province.

Administration

The capital of Kasaï district was the town of Luebo.
The city of Tshikapa lay within the district, but was independently administered.
It is now the capital of Kasaï Province.
