Kepler (Martian crater)

Kepler is a crater on Mars, located in the Eridania quadrangle at 46.8° S, 140. E. It measures approximately and was named in 1973, by the International Astronomical Union, in honor of the astronomer Johannes Kepler. A section of the floor of Kepler was photographed by the HiRISE camera aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on 25 March 2006.
Kepler is an example of a well-preserved peak ring crater on Mars.
