Kfar Mechki
Kfar Mechki is a small mountain authority in the Rashaya District of the Beqaa Governorate in Lebanon. With an altitude of over 4000 feet, this Christian village is located approximately 50 km from Beiruty, and lies on the East Mountain Chain of Lebanon. It is known for its unique oak trees and filled with caves, rock shelters, and ancient temples Nabi Safa.
It has a population of approximately 500 residents, most of whom cultivate their land, which is well known for its grapes and olives. Most of its inhabitants migrated to Ottawa, Canada. They left to Canada in the late 1800s and early 1900s, including 16 members who were on board the Titanic, of whom only 2 survived.
