Kirushya

Kirushya is one of 17 wards/divisions of Ngara District, Tanzania. It is located near Burundi and Rwanda. The name itself comes from a word for "tedious"; the area is largely a dry hill, and the scarcity of water forced residents to travel long distances for resupply. Such a journey is tedious, hence the name.
Kirushya, as part of its functioning as a ward headquarters, once had the only dispensary in the area. The clinic received patients from four villages: Kirushya, Mwivuza, Mulutabo, and Kasange. In 2003, another dispensary was constructed on the border shared by Mviwuza and Mulutabo to better handle the main local population.
