Korochansky District


Korochansky District is an administrative district, one of the twenty-one in Belgorod Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Korochansky Municipal District. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is. Its administrative center is the town of Korocha. As of the 2010 Census, the total population of the district was 38,695, with the population of Korocha accounting for 15.2% of that number.

History

The district was established on July 30, 1928 within Belgorod Okrug of Central Black Earth Oblast. When the oblast was split up on June 13, 1934, the district became a part of Kursk Oblast. It has been a part of Belgorod Oblast since January 6, 1954.
