Laado 2 (TV series)


Laado 2 – Veerpur Ki Mardani is an Indian television drama show that premiered on 6 November 2017 and aired on the Colors TV channel. It replaced the Colors TV popular show Ek Shringaar-Swabhiman from 6 November 2017.
It is the season 2 of Laado . It is Sequel or Spin-off Series of the 2009 Colors TV Series Na Aana Is Des Laado. The show is produced by Bollywood filmmaker Dhaval Gada. Meghna Malik reprised her role as Ammaji from Na Aana Is Des Laado in this show.
It starred Meghna Malik, Avika Gor, Palak Jain, Shaleen Malhotra, Siddharth Arora and Vinny Arora in the lead roles. The first promo for the show was released on 5 October 2017. Laado touched upon the sensitive issue of castration. The Series took a Leap of 6 Months in March 2018.
The story revolves around Ammaji, a powerful and conservative matriarch who supported female infanticide in Na Aana Is Des Laado, is now a transformed woman. She and her elder granddaughter, Anushka fight for women's rights as they try to change people's outlooks. The show contended with the likes of the shows on the rival channels that aired on the same time slot namely, Kundali Bhagya, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ayushman Bhava and Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki on the small screen facing a stiff competition.
It could not face the difficult competition with the TRP chart topper shows like Kundali Bhagya and Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and hence, the channel decided to pull it off-air without dragging the story any further and launch new shows which could help the channel retain its top position in BARC Ratings chart. The show ended on 23 May 2018, completing 133 Episodes. It was replaced by Colors TV Show Bepannah from 28 May 2018.

Season 2 of the Colors TV Na Aana Is Des Laado is produced by Dhaval Gada of Dhaval Gada Productions.

Casting

Earlier, there were rumours that Meghna Malik would be returning as the cruel and strict Ammaji. It was also said that the Show will have the same setup with Raghav and Siya's Daughter now playing the Lead. The concept of the Show remains the Same as Before. The Show will have Ekta Kaul and Shoaib Ibrahim playing the Protagonists while Meghna Malik will play the Antagonist.
But later it was officially announced that Meghna Malik as well as Avika Gor will be playing the Lead Roles in the Series. It was declared that the show will feature Avika Gor as the protagonist along with Palak Jain as her sister, Jhanvi who will be playing the parallel lead role in the series. It was also declared that Meghna Malik role will be positive in this series. Ammaji in this edition of Laado will be different in mind, body and appearance. She will be seen championing the cause of women and addressing sensitive issues of women's dignity, safety and rights. Later, Shaleen Malhotra was roped in to play the Male Lead Role in the Series. The show also featured a stellar line-up of actors including Rituraj Singh, Dakssh Ajit Singh, Ananya Khare, Gulfam Khan, Moni Rai, Ankit Raj, Zalak Desai, Hemann Choudhary, and Sudipti Parmar amongst others who will be playing Pivotal Roles. Later, Palak Jain's Character died in the Show. So, She left the Show. In January 2018, Rituraj Singh's Character died in the Show and so he also left the Show. In the same month, Meghna Malik left the Show and so, her character was shown to have died in the Series. In February 2018, Adhvik Mahajan entered the Series in the Parallel Lead Role. Later, in March 2018, Shaleen Malhotra also left the Series, so his character was shown to be killed in the Show. In the same month, Adhvik Mahajan also quit the Series. After the Leap which occurred in the Series in the month of March 2018, many new actors were roped in to play the pivotal roles in the Series. Manini Mishra, Ashu Sharma, Farida Dadi, Nasirr Khan, Arjun Aneja and Charu Asopa entered the Series to play important roles post-leap. In March 2018, Siddharth Arora entered the Series as the New Main Male Lead. In the month of April 2018, Nimai Bali entered the Series as the New Antagonist. In the same month, Vinny Arora entered the Series as the New Parallel Female Lead. Later, Mamta Luthra also entered the Series.

The Series occupied 17th place, with 1.8 TRP ratings in the First Week of Its Launch. In the 2nd Week of 2018, The Series got 1.5 ratings. The show reached the 14th position in the BARC Chart Ratings on 24 November 2017. The TRP/BARC ratings Chart for 27 January 2018 to 2 February 2018, the series occupied 17th place. In The TRP/BARC ratings Chart for the 3 March 2018 to 9 March 2018, the Series occupied 19th place. In The TRP/BARC ratings for 24 February 2018 to 2 March 2018, the Series occupied 17th place. In The TRP/BARC ratings Chart for 24 March 2018 to 30 March 2018, the series occupied 20th place. In The TRP/BARC ratings Chart for 31 March 2018 to 4 April 2018, the series occupied 19th place. In The TRP/BARC ratings Chart for 7 April 2018 to 13 April 2018, the Series managed to get 0.9 ratings.
The Show received good TRPs earlier but later was telecasted once or twice in a week and so, lost its popularity. It was discontinued from 24 May 2018 due to launch of Show named Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop at 9:00 PM Slot on Colors TV.
