Laura Clarke


Laura Clarke is a British diplomat, who is currently serving as the British High Commissioner to New Zealand, and the Governor of Pitcairn.

Biography

Before taking up her current role, she worked as Head of the South Asia Department in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She also worked as a political counsellor in Pretoria, South Africa and in the Ministry of Justice.
In November 2018 the British High Commission employed its first Maori adviser and also a language teacher for Clarke, as the New Zealand indigenous language is generally used alongside English.
Clarke's husband is a New Zealander.
