Lebanese government of January 2020

A new parliamentary cabinet was formed in Lebanon on 21 January 2020, headed by Prime Minister Hassan Diab, following much controversy regarding the independence and political affiliation of the cabinet members. The new head of cabinet was appointed by President Michel Aoun following the resignation of former PM Saad Hariri due to the 2019–20 Lebanese protests, also known as the October revolution. Diab presented the new cabinet as "technocratic", with the belief that the members would operate without loyalties to their respective political parties and endorsers. The main controversy being that the new cabinet consists of some people who are endorsed by political factions, whose involvement was the initial reason behind the protests.
There are six women members, more than any previous Lebanese government.
