Leduc County


Leduc County is a municipal district located immediately south of the City of Edmonton. It spans east to west and north to south, and has a population of 13,524. The municipal district is home to prairie parkland and several lakes and is home to the Edmonton International Airport, the Nisku Industrial Business Park and the Genesee Power Plant.

In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Leduc County recorded a population of 13,780 living in 5,101 of its 5,960 total private dwellings, a change from its 2011 population of 13,494. With a land area of, it had a population density of in 2016.
In the 2011 Census, Statistics Canada originally reported that Leduc County had a population of 13,541 living in 4,963 of its 5,494 total dwellings, a 3.1% change from its 2006 adjusted population of 13,135. Statistics Canada subsequently amended the 2011 census results to a population of 13,524 living in 4,956 of its 5,485 total dwellings, a 3.0% change from 2006. With a land area of, it had a population density of in 2011. Following the City of Leduc's 2014 annexation, Statistics Canada adjusted Leduc County's 2011 population downward by 25 people to 13,499.
