List of 19th-century British periodicals
This is a list of British periodicals established in the 19th century, excluding daily newspapers.
The periodical press flourished in the 19th century: the Waterloo Directory of English Newspapers and Periodicals plans to eventually list over 100,000 titles; the current Series 3 lists 73,000 titles. 19th-century periodicals have been the focus of extensive indexing efforts, such as that of the Wellesley Index to Victorian Periodicals, 1824–1900, Poole's Index to Periodical Literature, Science in the 19th-Century Periodical and Retrospective Index to Music Periodicals, 1800–1950. There are also a number of efforts to republish 19th-century periodicals online, including ProQuest's British Periodicals Collection I and Collection II, Gale's 19th Century UK Periodicals Online and Nineteenth-Century Serials Edition.
