Castlevania is a video game series created and developed by Konami. The series debuted in Japan on September 26, 1986 with Akumajō Dracula, which was later released as Castlevania in the United States and PAL. The series is one of Konami's most celebrated franchises, appearing on several best-of lists.
Castlevania titles have been released on numerous different video game consoles, handheld game consoles, and personal computer platforms, several of which have been re-released on multiple platforms and included as part of compilation packages. The series' characters have appeared in several other Konami games. There have been also numerous separately released music albums, initially by King Records, then primarily by Konami.Video games
