List of Privy Counsellors (1952–present)

This is a List of Privy Counsellors of the United Kingdom appointed since the accession of Queen Elizabeth II in 1952. Due to political ties, some prime ministers from Commonwealth realms also are appointed to the British Privy Council as well.
Seven Privy Counsellors have resigned during Queen Elizabeth's reign—John Profumo after misleading the House of Commons, and four others upon criminal conviction carrying a sentence of imprisonment, John Stonehouse, Jonathan Aitken Chris Huhne and Denis MacShane ; one, Elliot Morley was expelled. Additionally, Lord Prescott, the former Deputy Prime Minister, resigned in 2013 in protest over politicisation of handling of a press complaints charter being considered by the Council. Sir Seamus Treacy, a Lord Justice of Appeal in Northern Ireland, resigned shortly after his appointment in 2018.
The oldest Privy Counsellor is Sir Stephen Brown. The earliest-appointed member is Lord Morris of Aberavon, aside from The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who was appointed by George VI in 1951. The youngest Privy Counsellor is Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.
