List of Texas Rangers seasons

The Texas Rangers Major League Baseball team has played 59 seasons since its establishment as the Washington Senators in 1961. The team was unsuccessful in its early years, not having its first winning season until 1969. It moved to Arlington, Texas, in 1972, and continued to perform poorly, with only one season of over ninety wins and not a single postseason appearance until after the 1994 strike. After the George W. Bush/Edward W. Rose Partnership bought the team in 1989, the Rangers earned three postseason appearances in four years. The Rangers again declined to mediocrity under owner Tom Hicks until Hicks put the team into bankruptcy in 2010, at which time an ownership group led by Nolan Ryan and Chuck Greenberg bought the team and the Rangers began the best period of success in franchise history. Between 2010 and 2016, Texas reached the postseason five times, won four division titles, and appeared unexpectedly in their first two World Series.
