Life

Obi joined the British Black Panthers in 1972, and was later a member of the Brixton Black Women's Group. In 1972, along with Morris, Obi squatted at 121 Railton Road in Lambeth, above a launderette, where they resisted many eviction attempts. The first privately owned building to be successfully squatted in Lambeth, 121 Railton Road continued to be squatted until 1999, making it one of the longest squats in Brixton.
