London Corner


London Corner is a suburb of Serekunda, the biggest city in the Gambia.

Geography

It is situated at the center of Serekunda. Its neighbors are Dippakunda, Bakoteh village and Bundung.

Economy

The market is called Marci Nglewe. It officially opened in 1994. Before it was a market, the youths used it as a football pitch.

Culture

Most of its people know each other and live like a family.

Sport

The main sport is football, and the suburb supports many teams. These teams play in the Serekunda East Nawettan Zone, and notable among them are London United Football Club, Wales Football Club, Janjanga FC, Nguma FC, Check Point FC, Bayern FC and more. The only playing ground in London Corner is called ZION. This area also hosts naming ceremonies, marriage, political rallies and youth groups.
