Longbing Cao


Longbing Cao is a Professor in Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney Australia. He is known for his work in data science, behavior analytics, complex intelligent systems, and their enterprise applications.

Biography

Cao received one PhD in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from Chinese Academy of Science and another PhD in Computing Science at the University of Technology Sydney. He had bachelor in electric automation, and a master's degree in data communication systems.
Cao took a Chief Technology Officer role managing business intelligence system design and implementation in China before he moved to Australia to start his academic life.

Cao's research interests include data science, artificial intelligence and intelligent systems, and conducted a series of enterprise applications of advanced analytics for major government and business organizations and domains, including social security, taxation, immigration, capital markets, insurance, banking, telecommunication, and education.
Cao won the Eureka Prize for Excellence in Data Science in 2019 awarded by the Australian Museum.
