Lycurgus (king of Nemea)
In Greek mythology, Lycurgus, also Lykurgos or Lykourgos, was a king of Nemea, son of Pheres and Periclymene and thus, brother of Admetus, Eidomene, Periopis and Antigona. He was the husband of Eurydice of Nemea and father of Opheltes.
When the army of the Seven Against Thebes reached Nemea on its way to Thebes, his little son Opheltes was devoured by a serpent, through the negligence of Hypsipyle. Lycurgus' tomb was in the grove of the Nemean Zeus. He was also called Lycus in some accounts.
