Magnus Erlingmark


Magnus Erlingmark is a Swedish former
footballer who played as a defender. He made 37 appearances for the Sweden national team, including the 1994 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 1992. He won four Swedish Championships.

Club career

Erlingmark is best remembered for his time with IFK Göteborg, with which he won four Swedish championships. During the 1994–95 UEFA Champions League season, he helped Göteborg win their group ahead of FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and Galatasaray by scoring four goals.

International career

Erlingmark represented the Swedish U21 team a total of 10 times, scoring 1 goal.
He made his senior debut for Sweden in a friendly game against Norway in August of 1990. He was a squad player at UEFA Euro 1992 in which Sweden progressed to the semi-finals, making his only appearance in the tournament as a substitute for Anders Limpar in the group stage win against eventual Euro '92 champions Denmark.
Two years later he represented Sweden at the 1994 FIFA World Cup, in which Sweden finished third. He made his only appearance in the tournament coming in as a substitute for Joachim Björklund in a group stage win against Russia.

Personal life

He is the father of footballer August Erlingmark.
