Maindhan


Maindhan is a 1994 Tamil drama film directed by Pugazhendhi, starring Selva, Nirosha and Napoleon. The film, produced by K. N. Natarajan, has a musical score by Deva and was released on 3 July 1994.

Plot

Ramasamy Mudaliar is a village chief who follows Gandhian principles, while his son Jeeva is a jobless youth. Lakshmi is in love with her cousin Jeeva. Velayudam Pillai, a rich villager, plans to buy the village farmers' grounds and build a liquor factory there. Ramasamy Mudaliar tries to stop him and is subsequently killed. Jeeva becomes a responsible citizen and decides to take revenge on Velayudam Pillai.

Cast

The film score and the soundtrack were composed by Deva. The soundtrack, released in 1994, has four tracks with lyrics written by Muhammed Metha.

Reception

Malini Mannath of The New Indian Express said the film gave a sense of "déjà vu".
