Maniktala is an assembly constituency in Kolkata district in the Indian state of West Bengal.

Overview

As per orders of the Delimitation Commission, No. 167 Maniktala is composed of the following: Ward Nos. 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 31 and 32 of Kolkata municipal corporation.
Maniktala is part of No. 24 Kolkata Uttar. Prior to the 2009 Indian general election it was part of Calcutta North East.

In the 2006 elections, Rupa Bagchi of CPI defeated his nearest rival Paresh Paul of Trinamool Congress.

In the 2006 state assembly elections, Rupa Bagchi of CPI won the Manicktola assembly seat defeating her nearest rival Paresh Paul of Trinamool Congress. Paresh Paul of Trinamool Congress defeated Shyamal Chakraborty of CPI in 2001 and 1996. Shyamal Chakraborty of CPI defeated Paresh Paul of Congress in 1991, Bimalendu Roy of Congress in 1987, and Dulaleswar Roy of Congress in 1982. Suhrid Mullick Chowdhury of CPI defeated Ashok Das Gupta of Janata Party in 1977.
