Margaret Quass
Margaret Isobel Quass was an educationalist. Between 1974 and 1986, she was Director of the Council for Education in World Citizenship.Biography
Quass was educated at South Hampstead High School, Cambridge University and the London School of Economics. After a teaching stint in Watford, she joined the CEWC staff.Legacy
The Citizenship Foundation hold an annual Margaret Quass Debate in her memory. On 10 December 2009, 50 young people from schools throughout the UK attended a debate on global citizenship with Ransford Smith, Deputy Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, Paul Hilder, Director of the Avaaz Campaign, Eugenie Harvey, Director of the, Gillian Temple, Head of Oxfam's Public Engagement Team and Michael Maclay, Chair of Trustees of the Citizenship Foundation, who chaired the debate.
