Mariano Tristán y Moscoso
Mariano Tristán y Moscoso was a Spanish military man and politician, who served as commander of the Dragons Regiment of Arequipa.Biography
He was born in Arequipa, Perú, the son of José Joaquín de Tristán del Pozo and María Mercedes Moscoso y Pérez Oblitas, belonging to a noble family. He started his studies in France and Spain.
Mariano Tristán y Moscoso died on 14 June 1807 in Paris, France, where he had lived for several years. He was the brother of Domingo Tristán and Pío de Tristán. He was married in Bilbao to Anne-Pierre Laisnay, born in Paris, daughter of Jean Laisney and Thérèse Ameline. He and his wife were the parents of Flora Tristan, a famous French writer of the 19th century.
