Marla Leigh


Marla Leigh Goldstein, also known as Marla Leigh, is a grammy-nominated professional percussionist, flautist, composer and educator. She is one of the few female Frame drum musicians.

Education

Goldstein attended the holds California Institute of the Arts where she received a BFA and MFA in Percussion. She studied under John Bergamo and Randy Gloss.

Career

Marla's original music was featured on the DVD produced by yoga instructor Hala Khouri, the movie Bold Native and short animation, The Cellist. Her music was also commissioned to create compositions for University of Kentucky and Brooklyn Middle School. Her work earned her a Grammy nomination.
The Cooperman Hand Drum company named a Tar Drum in her honor.
She has performed at Tambouri Mundi Festival in Gemany, Luzurne Music Festival, Bali Arts Festival, Los Angeles Sacred Music Festival, and Topanga Earth Day Festival.
In 2020, her album Rhythms of Tof Miriam was released.
In 2016, she founded and serves as the CEO of Frame Drum Academy, an online drumming instructional resource. She also conducts drumming circles and rhythmic healing events.
