Martin Viertel - writer and author from Germany. He was born on October 2, 1925 in Lugau and died on May 1, 2005 in Gera. He was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver, the Heinrich Mann Prize, the Banner of Labor, the Medal of Merit of the GDR.
