Marton railway station, Manawatu-Wanganui
Marton railway station is a station and rail junction on the Marton–New Plymouth Line and the
North Island Main Trunk, opened in July 1885. Originally there was no shelter on the platform, until one was erected between November 1889 and March 1891.
The station serves Marton, the largest town in the Rangitikei district, which is in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand.
Refreshment rooms were opened about May 1905, but with faster trains and railcars in the 1950s the need for refreshment stops reduced, and they closed on 14 June 1954.
