Mary O'Callaghan


Mary O'Callaghan was the 21st president of the Camogie Association. Hailing from Dripsey, County Cork, she was attached to the Inniscarra club, serving as a Cork selector and vice-chair before being elected chair of the Cork County Camogie Board in 1980.

Presidency

The Intermediate championship was established near the end of her presidency. Counties were seeded for the 1992 championship on their 1991 performances, while four losing teams in the first round entered the new competition alongside the 1991 junior champions.

Death

She died on 10 April 1992 at her home in Dripsey.
