Matt Carmody


Matt Carmody is an American actor, writer, director, and producer. He is known for his television appearances on shows including Ponderosa, JAG, NCIS, , and CSI New York, as well as for his leading role in the horror film Carver.

Early life and education

Carmody was born in Silver Spring, Maryland and grew up in the town of Kensington, Maryland. After graduating from Walter Johnson High School, he studied art and music before moving to Los Angeles, California to pursue acting.

Career

He was cast in his first series-regular role in the pilot of U.S.M.A., West Point, produced by Beth Sullivan, creator of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. A few years later he was cast again by Sullivan in Ponderosa, a prequel to the series Bonanza for the PAX Network. Carmody played the role of Adam Cartwright. He has guest starred on many shows, including ', ', Crossing Jordan, JAG, Dark Blue and Miss Match. He also appeared in the film Boys & Girls starring Freddie Prinze, Jr., and played the lead role of Pete in the horror film Carver, for which he won Best Actor at the Orlando Freakshow Horror Film Festival.
Carmody wrote the feature screenplay Fade to Black, which won Best Screenplay awards at the Los Angeles Art-House Film Festival and the West Field Screenwriter Awards. He wrote, directed and stars in the comedy series Man Jam. He is the Head of Production for his production company, Westbrook Pictures.
Carmody lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Sandra McCurdy.
